Mike Ruedinger - Prior to starting Hi-Tech SMR Communications in 1995, Mike worked as a service technician for Motorola. Since 1995, he has been involved in both the technical and sales side of the business, providing a high level of customer service to all of our clients.

Paul Huneryager - Paul comes to us with a background in electrical installation and systems engineering. With more than 22 years experience in the electrical field, Paul will be able to service your needs with a high level of expertise.
Tim Jesswein - Tim was hired in to SMR Communications in 1999. His original position was delivery and pick up of parts, new products, and repairs. Through on the job training he learned to do installation work and became a full time employee doing everything from police car installs to tower ground crew work. Tim continued full time through the acquisition of Hi-Tech in 2000 and is currently serving Michigan Public Safety and related customers. Tim then began a part time status to take a Career Firefighter position in Niles Twp. in Oct of 2003. In 1995, Tim began employment with the Buchanan Twp. as Fire Chief and has a total of 18 years in the fire service.
Jack Brewer - Jack was hired on to Hi-Tech SMR in 2005 with the goal of advancing beyond the two way radio repair and installation into data services. He brings 15 years of computer, networking datacenter and wireless data experience with him. In 1995 Jack started MicroVillage Internet, a regional ISP which covered South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, Goshen, Southwest lower Michigan and Indianapolis before closing in October 2003.

	In May of 1995, SMR Communications was started by two long time Radio Repair Technicians Steve and Mike Ruedinger. SMR Communications started small in southwestern Michigan but quickly grew. The Company is involved in the sales and maintenance of Two-way Radio Communications systems, 911 dispatch systems, radio towers, and wireless data communications. SMR Communications expanded in 2000 with the purchase of Abbotts Hi-Tech Communications out of South Bend. After the purchase the name was changed to include both companies as "Hi-Tech SMR Communications". Hi-Tech is heavily involved in public safety, and proud to be one of only four authorized Kenwood Digital 800 MHz dealers in Michigan. Hi-Tech SMR is also an authorized dealer of E.F. Johnson Digital 800 APCO 25 Radios in Indiana and Michigan. Hi-Tech SMR carries many quality Two Way Radio Brands including Kenwood, ICOM, E.F. Johnson and Vertex Standard Radio Equipment, as well as many other high quality products such as Skytel's FleetHawk GPS Systems. Our company is one of the only Repair shops in the area that maintains its own experienced and Insured Tower Installation and repair crews.
